Feeling Heavy, Loving Big, Staying Hopeful

Hey friends,

I’ll be honest… this new year hit me with a wave of feelings.

We’re starting 2026 with full hearts from an incredible year behind us. And right alongside that joy, we’re also carrying some real grief. The world feels heavy. So many of our friends are navigating hard things– housing insecurity, hunger, and the exhausting work of just getting through the week.

But you know what I’ve noticed over the years at Table?

Every time I sink into grief, someone in our community tugs me out and puts me on my feet again. Recently, that someone was Randy.

Randy is one of our regular volunteers. For months, he’s been showing up–serving food, washing dishes, cracking jokes, making everyone feel seen. He’s become family. And one day,  in true Randy fashion, he named the heart of why this work matters:

“Love you too! You all give me and many others not only solid nutrition, but a sense of love and belonging that is not always prevalent in the world we live in.”

That right there.

That’s who we are. That’s what we do.

Yes, we serve meals.

But we also serve connection.

We create belonging.

We make space–for Randy, for our neighbors, for ourselves–to be known and seen.

In 2025, because of you, we:

-Shared over 55,000 meals
-Welcomed hundreds of volunteers
-Grew our impact through catering and nonprofit partnerships
-Kept the café running as a place where everyone belongs

None of that happens without this community. Without you.

And in 2026, we’ll keep going.

We carry the grief. We carry the gratitude. And most of all, we keep showing up. For each other. For our neighbors. For community.

We keep making space for that love and belonging Randy named. Even–especially–when the world feels heavy.

Thank you for being part of this magic. We can’t wait to see what we’ll build together this year.

So much gratitude,

Maggie
