Happy birthday, free cake for other cafes, and fun news coming…

Friends,

Table turned five yesterday. I cannot believe it. From the earlier pop up model days years before we opened the cafe, endless meetings (Maggie Kane = called Queen of Meetings – which I am not sure is a compliment haha), many construction projects, and most importantly the incredible, life-changing 5 years of community investing in our cafe, it has been the best 9 years of my life.

I cannot thank each one of you enough for all you’ve done for this cafe.

To the staff over the 5 years, THANK YOU. You’ve touched my life more than I can even express.

To our dedicated board members, volunteers, financial and in-kind donors, and diners, THANK YOU. I could not have made it even a day without you especially during those challenging COVID years. This community cared to keep Table going and serving.

To every single one of you, you’re a gift to me and a gift to this cafe. THANK YOU.

And to our fellow pay-what-you-can café friends running successful cafes all over the country, THANK YOU. Not only did you inspire us to get going, but you believed in us, supported us, and cheered us on.

ALL WEEK, pop by for fun cookies and merch giveaways to celebrate Table’s 5th birthday & all of the rockstar pay-what-you-can cafes and soon-to-be cafes around the country. And… CAKE Friday!

Why? BECAUSE… It gives us great pride that Raleigh’s only pay-what-you-can cafe is hosting the One World Everybody Eat’s Summit, a network of other pay-what-you-can operators and startup cafes, at A Place at the Table this coming weekend.

With extreme gratitude,
Maggie

PS. On top our birthday news, we will soon be making a big announcement about this coming Thursday that we are excited about. Be sure to follow us on Instagram @tableraleigh to read more about it!
