Wake Tech Community College
Ever wanted to learn how to bake like a Michelin star chef? Wake Technical Community College and A Place at the Table are partnering to provide non-degree, short-term culinary and baking classes at the cafe! The six-to-eight week courses lead to industry certifications and will be offered in the evenings, Monday through Thursday. Wake Tech will waive the registration fee for Fall 2021, to support the local hospitality industry in its post-pandemic recovery.
Additional scholarship opportunities
Students who successfully complete the program and work for one year in the local hospitality industry will be eligible to receive a $3,000 “A Place at Wake Tech” scholarship to pursue a culinary arts, baking and pastry arts or hospitality management degree.
Also look for exciting individual specialty classes during the day on Mondays, featuring guest chefs and instruction on international cuisine (fee waiver and scholarship do not apply).
NC Courage forward, Jessica McDonald, has been named this year’s community ambassador for the club and will represent A Place at the Table. The partnership, in collaboration with NWSL’s Nationwide Community Impact Program, will provide financial support to the cafe and facilitate a team-led service project. We are so excited to partner with the Courage and excited to have the team’s support.
